Sunday Sept 4, 2022:. Flew to Pittsburgh, stayed in the downtown Drury.
Monday:. Boarded the American Heritage for lunch.
Too much food, and too often. and this is lunch! :
The paddle wheel doesn't show up in the picture of the lounge, but the close-up reveals it. Tho it turns as we go, it does not power us at all.
The schedule from noon to 9pm:like the food -- plenty!
19 locks between Pittsburgh and Cairo, Illinois allow us to drop from 710' to 250' elevation on the Ohio River in 964.4 river miles.in 9 days. Note the gangplank attached at the front of the Heritage

Tuesday, first full day on board. Starting the day with 100 percent humidity.
Two breakfasts offered, mid-morning snack, regular lunch or a baked potato bar. We chose a half sandwich, but couldn't turn down dessert. Couldn't even wait to take the picture before sampling this.
